Extreme Fatigue
Vitamine c against extreme and chronic fatigue, and infections
John Myers, MD, doctor from Baltimore, Maryland, was a pioneer in the use of intravenous vitamins and minerals (IV) as part of a complete therapy against different sanitary disorders. The author never met Dr Myers, even though he lives in Baltimore, but he heard talking about his work and sometimes he used the nutrients IV in therapies against extreme fatigue, chronic fatigue and sharp infections.
After Dr Myers death in 1984, a series of patients asked the author nutrients´ injections, some received monthly injections. It wasn´t clear what the “Coctel Myers” was made of, because the information provided by the patients was incomplete and there was no written material or publications about the therapy in question.
Apparently Myers used the syringe of 10ml and with a IV slow injection, provided a combination of chloride of magnesium, gluconate of calcium, thiamin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, pantothenate of calcium, vitamins of the B complex, vitamin C, and diluted hydrochloric acid. The exact doses of the individual components are unknown, but Myers apparently uses a solution with the 2 % of chloride of magnesium, instead of most common preparations that contain the 20% of chloride or the 50% of sulfate of magnesium.
The author was occupied of the Myers patients, and used a modified version of treatment IV. Especially, there was an increase of the magnesium dose of 10 times throughout a 20% of chloride magnesium, to be able to approximate the dose the doses that were considered sure and efficient for the treatment of cardiovascular disorders. 1, 2 Thus, the hydrochloric acid was eliminated and the vitamin C increased, especially in case of allergic reactions, extreme and chronic fatigue, and infections. The folic acid was not present, because it has the tendency to precipitate when it is mixed with other nutrients.
This therapy was recommended for other patients, and soon resulted evident that the Myers cocktail (from then on “Myers”) was useful for treating a series of clinical conditions, and soon produced extraordinary results. In a period of 11 years, 15000.
