Antioxidants against cancer

The oral administration of the Vitamin C does not produce the blood levels too high to kill the cancer cells. The studies on antioxidants against cancer have concluded that the tumors cells become susceptible to high doses ó vitamin C in plasma that take to concentrations between 350 and 400 mg/dL where, where the cycle of oxide-reduction generates cell peroxidation. And the therapy with vitamin C has this prooxidant effect, inducing apoptosis in the cancer cells with catalase deficiency while they respect the no cancerous cells from the oxidative damage.
At 350 a 400 mg/dL, vitamin C behaves as a pro-medicine in the extra cell space where it interacts with the metallic ions in a reaction ó Fenton, thus generating important quantities of interstitial H2O2.
And the normal cells are not affected, while the cancer cells, due to the catalase deficiency, are destroyed. And due to the great quantity of receptor the cells membrane glucose of the cancer cells, the vitamin C can be accumulated up to five times the concentration of the normal cells.
The vitamin C improves the mitochondrial function of the health cell, and stimulated the immune system to produce interferon, increases the number of cells NK, increases the phagocytic migration and improves the King Cell – function. The vitamin C reduces the damage by chemotherapy and radiation. This helps to prevent the AND damage and the mutation that in a contrary case would make the apoptosis of the cancer cells and its death do not result.
The vitamin C helps that the collagen production and carnitine for the formation of fibroses tissue that helps isolate the tumor. Also, it helps in the formation of connective tissue, cartilages, bone matrix, tooth dentine, skin and tendons.
